Jharkhand Industries Secretary Jitendra Kumar Singh highlighted the crucial role of the manufacturing sector in India’s economic growth during the 10th Manufacturing Conclave.
JAMSHEDPUR – At the 10th Manufacturing Conclave, hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in a hotel in Adityapur, Seraikela-Kharsawan district, Jharkhand Industries Secretary Jitendra Kumar Singh emphasized the pivotal role of the manufacturing sector in driving India’s economic growth.
The sector accounts for 30% of the nation’s economic growth and played a significant part in Jharkhand’s development during the fiscal year 2021-2022, following numerous policy changes designed to bolster its performance.
Jitendra Kumar Singh, who inaugurated the conclave, remarked that the mining industry in Jharkhand has seen significant growth alongside manufacturing.
He also announced impending new policies pertaining to the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, biofuels, and solar energy within the state.
Jharkhand’s contribution to India’s mineral requirements stands at 40%, underlining the state’s critical role in India’s Global Value Chain (GVC) export.
The secretary pointed to future development in Jharkhand that parallels the growth of the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor.
This includes the establishment of a Pharma and Electronic Manufacturing Park and a focus on promoting green hydrogen. Singh said the government is actively enticing global solar energy and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
