Main Road Construction Delay at Manipal Tata Medical College Raises Concerns
Residents are growing frustrated over the delay in construction of the main road at Manipal Tata Medical College in Baridih Basti, causing frequent traffic jams and safety issues.
JAMSHEDPUR – The residents of Baridih Basti are increasingly frustrated over the delayed construction of the main road from the gate of the newly established Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC).
The road, which has been half-closed for several years now, currently allows traffic in both directions on just one side.
Bablu Jha, Vice President of the District Congress and local youth social worker, expressed his concerns about the state of the road.

He pointed out that the length of the road in question is only 300 meters, yet it has not been completed in three years, despite Jusco’s capacity to construct many kilometers of road overnight.
The current condition of the road is causing considerable difficulties for locals.
On rainy days, the situation is exacerbated by water-logging caused by the strong flow of water coming directly from the MTMC boundary onto the main road.
This also leads to frequent minor accidents and traffic congestion, often caused by long buses exiting from the MTMC main gate.
Jha questioned if the local administration was waiting for a major incident before rectifying the problem.
He warned that if Jusco and MTMC do not take immediate action to resolve the issue, they would inform the District Magistrate through a memorandum.
If necessary, they would also file a public interest litigation with the local residents and start a mass movement.
