Delayed Monsoon in Jamshedpur Affects Local Farmers’ Paddy Crop
Lack of anticipated torrential rains in Jamshedpur, despite the onset of monsoon, has caused concern among farmers as paddy seeds begin to dry up.
JAMSHEDPUR – As monsoon arrives in Jamshedpur, farmers in rural areas around the city have been left worried about the drying of their paddy seeds due to insufficient rainfall.
Despite their initial optimism at the onset of the rainy season, the lack of heavy rains has created a challenging situation for the farming community.
Paddy planting, typically completed by the end of July, is currently at risk as the drought-like conditions persist.
Without the expected monsoon rains, fields have dried up, impeding farming activities and leaving crops at risk.
In an effort to maintain some greenery, farmers are continuously watering their fields using fertilizers and motors.
However, these measures can only provide a temporary solution to the problem.
Farmers express concern that if weather conditions do not improve soon, they might miss the usual cultivation time for their crops. They are hopeful that more rainfall will occur before the end of the month, allowing them to complete their paddy cultivation as planned.
