Top performers in weekly Mathematics examinations were rewarded, sparking enthusiasm among teachers, students, and parents.
JAMSHEDPUR – Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav and Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, the project ‘Parakh: Studies and Sports’ is gaining traction in East Singhbhum district. This initiative has created excitement and interest among teachers, children, and their parents.
In the 147 high schools of the district, the top three students from Saturday’s weekly Mathematics examination were rewarded during the morning prayer meeting in the presence of their parents. This recognition brought joy and pride to the students.
In addition to a regular cleanliness drive in the school premises, the project also brings many radical changes. Blackboards are being repainted in all schools, and the Children’s Parliament is being restructured.
For the successful implementation of the ‘Parakh: Studies and Sports’ project, the Deputy Development Commissioner gave specific instructions, including the requirement for parents to attend parent-teacher meetings. An official letter will be sent to parents about these meetings, which they must attend.
The Deputy Development Commissioner announced the introduction of a weekly "documentary period," during which videos and documentaries sent from the district will be shown to students. Other changes include making formal dress mandatory for all teachers and the requirement for schools to have first aid boxes and sanitary boxes on hand.
The initiative also includes a ‘Thought of the Day’ during the morning prayer meeting and a welcome for the first student to arrive at school with flowers from a teacher. The Deputy Development Commissioner stated that these small steps are just the beginning, aiming to provide a better environment for students, boosting their confidence and reducing examination stress.
