9 East Singhbhum laborers Injured in Odisha Train Accident Brought Back

A train accident near Balasore, Odisha injured nine laborers of East Singhbhum who were aboard the Coromandel Express. The laborers, heading to Chennai for work, suffered partial injuries.

JAMSHEDPUR – A tragic train accident occurred last evening near Balasore, Odisha, causing injuries to nine laborers from Chakulia’s Muslim Colony and Baharagora, who were traveling to Chennai on the Coromandel Express.

All the injured laborers were transported back to their homes by their relatives.

According to the information received, the laborers had returned home for Eid celebrations and were on their way back to work in Chennai.

Five of the injured residents from Chakulia, namely Mohammad Shahrukh (25), Sheikh Shaheed (23), Moharram Ali (19), Meraj Ansari (26), and Arbaz Ansari (26) sustained partial injuries.

The injured individuals reported that they had boarded the Coromandel Express at Kharagpur and were traveling in the S2 coach.

When the train was near Balasore, they experienced a sudden jolt, severely damaging the train coach.

They managed to escape and climbed onto a cargo train box with which the passenger train had collided. They were later transported to a hospital for treatment.

Mohammad Shahrukh’s right leg was broken in the incident, while the other men also suffered various injuries.

Four laborers from Baharagora were also injured in the incident.

These laborers were en route to work at a paper mill in Chennai.

Two of them are receiving treatment in Balasore, while two others have been admitted to the community health center in Baharagora.

Sonu Polai (20) and Ravi Dehuri (21) of Uinala reported that they were travelling in coach number S-7 when the incident occurred, causing them to fall into a pit outside the train.

Mansa Polai of Uinala and a labourer named Budha from Mohanpur are receiving treatment in a Balasore hospital.

Relatives of the laborers have since arrived at the hospital.
