Bihar Public Service Commission Announces Massive Teacher Recruitment Drive
Bihar Public Service Commission opens up 1,70,461 teacher vacancies. Online applications start from June 15 with a 50% reservation for women.
DESK – The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has published an advertisement for a major teacher recruitment drive.
The commission has announced vacancies for a whopping 1,70,461 posts, inviting eligible candidates to apply online for primary, middle, and high school teacher positions.
The recruitment advertisement was released late Tuesday night, and candidates can download it from the BPSC’s official website.
According to the BPSC, the window for online applications will open on June 15 and close on July 12.
The examinations will be conducted on August 19, 20, 26, and 27, and the results will be released by December.
Following several discussions between Education Department officials and the Bihar Public Service Commission, the BPSC confirmed that registration and application processes will be unified for this examination.
Importantly, women will enjoy a 50% reservation. The commission reassured that the entire recruitment process will conclude within this calendar year.
Crucially, final-year D.El.Ed and B.Ed students, who were keen to be included in the application process, will indeed have the chance to apply.
However, such candidates will have to produce their admit card at the time of verification by the commission.
Those who are awaiting results for any qualifying certificate will need to provide an undertaking to submit the qualification certificate within a stipulated period, failing which they will be deemed ineligible.
At the meeting chaired by BPSC Chairman Atul Prasad, it was clarified that having a certificate for permanent residency is a prerequisite.
The examination will be conducted according to government provisions for teacher recruitment rules, including arrangements for reservation or age relaxation.
In a notable decision, the meeting also concluded that candidates with technical degrees, including engineering and computer graduates, can apply for mathematics and science teacher positions for grades 9 and 10.
Furthermore, holding a B.Ed degree is not mandatory for becoming a computer teacher for grades 11 and 12, according to the amended School Teacher Recruitment Rules 2023.
