PM Narendra Modi Expresses Grief Over Fatal Accidents in Mysuru and Dhanbad, Announces Ex-Gratia
PM Modi expresses condolences over tragic accidents in Mysuru and Dhanbad, announcing financial aid from PMNRF for victims.
DESK – The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, has expressed profound sorrow over the loss of lives due to two separate accidents in Mysuru, Karnataka, and Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
A series of tweets from the Prime Minister’s Office communicated the PM’s sentiments. Deeply saddened by the tragic accident in Mysuru, Karnataka. My thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones. Praying for the speedy recovery of those injured,” read one tweet.
A subsequent tweet expressed his sympathies for the victims of the accident in Dhanbad: “The loss of lives due to a mishap in Dhanbad is extremely unfortunate. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. Praying for a quick recovery for the injured.”
The Prime Minister also declared financial assistance for the victims of these tragedies. The PM’s office stated, “The Prime Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives in the tragedies in Mysuru and Dhanbad. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.”
In Mysuru, ten individuals, including two children, were tragically killed in a head-on collision between a car and a bus. The accident took place near Tnarsinghpura, with reports suggesting that the Innova car was speeding and lost control at a turn near Kurpur.
In a separate unfortunate incident in Dhanbad, five contract laborers were electrocuted during a pole installation process near Katras station. The accident took place near Jharjhor in Katras, along the Howrah-New Delhi railway line within the Dhanbad railway division in Gomo, when the pole made contact with a high-tension wire.
