Mango Municipal Corporation Seizes 143 Motors to Address Water Crisis amid Heatwave
Mango Municipal Corporation raids homes, seizing 143 motors to tackle water shortage amid a severe heatwave.
JAMSHEDPUR – As Jamshedpur’s Mango Municipal Corporation and surrounding areas are battling a severe water shortage amid the sweltering heatwave, drastic measures have been implemented to combat the crisis.
The Mango Municipal Corporation conducted special raids across different areas, seizing 143 water pump motors from various houses. Officials have indicated that this drive is likely to continue.
In a recent emergency meeting convened by Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, it was revealed that the inadequate water supply in lower-lying areas resulted from residents using motors to extract water during distribution.
Addressing this water crisis is crucial, and that’s why we carried out intensive raids, leading to the seizure of 143 motors,” stated Mango Municipal Corporation officials.
This initiative aims to promote fair water distribution to slums, lower-lying areas, and houses without motors.
To further mitigate water scarcity, special camps were organized from May 17 to 25 across various Municipal Corporation locations under the Deputy Commissioner’s directives.
These camps aimed at facilitating water connections.
Moreover, the district administration has launched a water supply initiative via tankers to alleviate the water shortage exacerbated by the ongoing heatwave, ensuring that residents do not suffer amid the blistering temperatures.
