Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren officially inaugurated the Ranchi Cancer Hospital and Research Center (RCHRC) Friday.

The hospital, established by Tata Trusts, aims to provide state-of-the-art cancer care and research facilities.

The RCHRC, boasting 82 beds, will operate under the Tata Cancer Care Foundation (TCCF), which also runs a hospital in Tirupati and an onco-pathology lab in Mumbai.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Soren highlighted the previous lack of adequate cancer facilities in Jharkhand and expressed his optimism that the new hospital would rectify this issue. “Patients will no longer need to undertake long, costly journeys to other cities for treatment,” he said. “They will receive world-class, affordable, and high-quality care right here.”

Situated on 25 acres of land, the RCHRC is fitted with cutting-edge technologies and diagnostic equipment, including high-end CT and MRI scanners, digital mammography machines, and advanced machines for radiotherapy.

The event saw the attendance of notable figures, including Tata Trusts trustee and Tata Steel Vice Chairman Noel Tata and Tata Steel MD and CEO T.V. Narendran.

Noel Tata affirmed that since 2017, Tata Trusts has been working to enhance cancer facilities across six Indian states.
