Muslims in Jamshedpur observe last Friday prayers of Ramazan, prepare for Eid celebrations with Sewaiyan from Saudi Arabia & Uttar Pradesh in demand.
Jamshedpur – The Muslim community in Jamshedpur came together for the last Friday prayers of the holy month of Ramazan, praying to the almighty for everyone’s prosperity and well-being.
This year saw a total of five Friday prayers, with Eid being celebrated in Saudi Arabia today and Jamshedpur set to celebrate tomorrow.
Goodbye Zuma prayers were offered at various mosques throughout the city, with the joy of the upcoming Eid clearly visible on the faces of the congregants.

The Kolhan region is also expected to celebrate Eid tomorrow, Saturday.
In preparation for the festivities, major markets in Jamshedpur are decorated, with people shopping in anticipation of the celebrations.
Sewaiyan or vermicelli, which holds special importance during Eid, is in high demand this year, with varieties from both Saudi Arabia and Uttar Pradesh making their way to the city’s markets.
Sewaiyan shops can be found at every corner, catering to the preferences of the local population.
Prices for sewai or verrmicelli range from 100 to 800 rupees per kg, and this year’s sales have been especially strong as the market rebounds from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Shopkeepers report that sales are robust, with people purchasing more than in previous years.
