Headmaster Arbind Tiwary frees 12-year-old Puri Sabar from child labor, enrolls her in school, and aims to improve the lives of primitive tribal children.
Jamshedpur: A 12-year-old girl, Puri Sabar, from Tangrain village in the Potka block has been freed from child labor and enrolled in school, thanks to the efforts of Arbind Tiwary, headmaster of Tangrain Upgraded Middle School.
Tiwary has been working relentlessly to connect the children of primitive tribes with the school, aiming to improve their lives and break the cycle of poverty.
Puri Sabar, who lost her father in a tragic drowning accident two months ago, used to work in other’s homes to help support her mother. She had never attended school and was hesitant to enroll due to fear and shame.
However, Tiwary was persistent in his efforts to persuade the young girl to join the school. On the second day, he provided her with a new dress and slippers, which helped Puri feel more comfortable attending classes.
The headmaster’s determination has paid off; within the past two months, he has managed to free six Sabar children from child labor and enroll them in school.
The Sabar community, a primitive tribe, has been struggling with poverty and hooch and tobacoo addiction, leading to children working as dhangads (child laborers) in various homes instead of attending school.
Arbind Tiwary’s continuous efforts to improve the lives of these children and provide them with a better future through education is a testament to his dedication and compassion.
As more children from the primitive tribe join the school, there is hope that the cycle of poverty and addiction can be broken, paving the way for a brighter future for the entire community.
