Tata Steel Welcomes Four PWD Employees as CCTV Operators

West Bokaro Division onboards new staff, advancing workplace inclusion efforts

Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division has welcomed four employees with disabilities as CCTV Control Room Operators, advancing their workplace inclusion initiative.

WEST BOKARO – Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division has hired four employees with disabilities as CCTV Control Room Operators, marking a significant step towards workplace inclusion.

The on-boarding ceremony was attended by several senior Tata Steel officials, including Anurag Dixit, General Manager of West Bokaro Division.

The new CCTV Control Room Operators – Prem Sharma, Mohammad Hashim Hasan, Angad Kumar Singh, and Abhilash Sharma – bring diverse experience to their roles.

These employees will join Tata Steel Support Services Limited and undergo a week-long training program in Jamshedpur before starting their new positions.

The initiative is part of Tata Steel’s "Empowering the Capable" program, aimed at fostering greater inclusion in the workplace.

Anurag Dixit expressed confidence in the new team members’ potential contributions and the company’s commitment to providing necessary support for their success.

With this addition, West Bokaro Division’s diverse workforce now comprises 6% of its total staff, including women and transgender employees.

This move aligns with Tata Steel’s broader goal of achieving a 20% diverse workforce by 2025.

The event was also attended by Rajesh Chintak, Chief HRBP, RM, Tata Steel; Sandeep Dheer, CEO and MD, Tata Steel Technical Services Limited; and Sanjay Satpathy, CHRO, Tata Steel Technical Services Limited.

Tata Steel’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is evident in this initiative, which represents a significant step towards creating a more inclusive work environment.
