School Bus Overturns in Ranchi, Injures Children

Local Heroes Rescue Children After School Bus Accident Near Water Park

A school bus accident near a water park in Ranchi led to injuries among a dozen children, triggering a swift community and police rescue operation.

RANCHI – Near a popular water park in the Mandar police station area of Ranchi, a school bus from St. Marius School lost control and overturned, resulting in injuries to several children on board.

The incident occurred as the bus attempted a sharp turn and skidded off the road into a nearby field.

According to witnesses, the bus was en route to the school when the accident happened.

"The bus suddenly veered off the path during a sharp turn, causing panic and screams from the children inside," one local described.

Mandar police station’s in-charge, Rahul Kumar, along with local residents, acted quickly to rescue the trapped children.

"We had to break the rear glass to pull the children out safely," Kumar explained.

An ambulance arrived promptly at the scene, ensuring that all injured parties were transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Khalari DSP Ramnarayan Chaudhary, overseeing the response, confirmed that all the children were out of immediate danger.

"Out of sixteen children, fifteen are completely safe. One child sustained a head injury and is undergoing a CT scan as a precaution," Chaudhary stated.

The community’s effective and immediate response underscored the importance of safety measures and emergency preparedness in such incidents.

Both the driver and a passenger also received injuries, but no fatalities were reported.
