Jamshedpur: Harsh Mariwala, Chairman of Marico, shared his insights on how companies can create a "Right to Win" at a CXO Series Interaction organized by XLRI PGDM (GM) on Thursday.
Mariwala talked about the importance of having a willingness to learn and being patient, persistent and flexible to be successful in business.
He emphasized the need to focus on consumer insight and to constantly innovate to achieve success.
Mariwala also spoke about the importance of culture and strategy working in tandem, with culture based on trust and empowering the workforce.
He highlighted the need to learn from failures and to promote team innovation instead of individual innovation.
Mariwala also discussed the importance of talent acquisition and creating an open organization with a training program to create an open culture that sends multiple messages to the organization.
He suggested that senior managers need to understand geopolitics, technology and disruption, and create scenario plans to protect the current brand.
Mariwala’s expertise in transforming a traditional commodity-driven business into a leading consumer products company in the beauty and wellness space, and his philanthropic work with the Marico Innovation Foundation and Mariwala Health Initiative made him an apt guest speaker for the event.
Only two days back, Mr. Harsh Mariwala, the Chairman of Marico, was awarded the ‘Sir Jehangir Ghandy Medal for Industrial and Social Peace’ by XLRI as a recognition of his unwavering commitment to exemplary business leadership and his persistent endeavors towards improving society.
The program commenced with an opening speech by Shantanu from XLRI Jamshedpur, who welcomed guest speaker Mr. Harsh Mariwala and professors from XLRI, including Prof. Sanjay Patro – Dean-Academics and Professor of Marketing.
