Flag march in Jamshedpur ahead of Holi and Shab-e-barat

Extra force deployed to maintain law and order, magistrates placed at sensitive places

Jamshedpur: The city police carried out a flag march on Monday to send a message of safety and security among the citizens and to reiterate its preparedness to maintain law and order during the oncoming festivals.

The city police will remain vigilant and on high alert from March 6 to 9, keeping in view the oncoming festivals of Holi and Shab-e-barat.

The police administration has deployed extra police officers at strategic spots around the city to maintain security. Furthermore, to keep an eye at different places in the city magistrates too have been deployed.

The city police are determined to ensure that the Shab-e-Barat and Holi celebrations pass off peacefully and without any untoward incident.

The police on Monday took out a flag march from Sakchi CCR premises to send a strong message to troublemakers that they would face harsh action if they disrupt the festivals in any manner.

The police are actively striving to preserve law and order in every part of the city..

From March 6 to March 9, Jamshedpur, which the state regards as sensitive, will observe Shab-e-Barat, a key holiday for Muslims, and Holi, an important festival for Hindus.

The local administration is on high alert at this time even as the citizens are preparing to welcome the festivals.

The administration has made an elaborate security plan for the festivals.
