Jamshedpur: The Medical Services Team from Tata Steel participated in the 42nd All India Steel Medical Officers Conference (AISMOC) 2023, held from February 10-12, 2023 at Bhilai.

The team, led by Dr. Sudhir Rai, General Manager, Medical Services, Tata Steel and Dr. Ashok Kumar Chattoraj, Chief Consultant and HOD Surgery, TMH, made significant contributions

to the scientific discussions, research presentations, and Mediquiz.

Tata Steel emerged as the Best Team at AISMOC 2023. The Tata Steel Medical Services Team left a lasting impression and took home 8 awards, including the much-coveted Best Team award. The conference attendees were impressed by the team’s performance, and their contributions were acknowledged through several awards.

Dr. Rajesh Thakur won in the Best Short Paper award category, and Dr. Shivraj Singh Chauhan won the 1st Prize for the PG Poster Presentation.

Dr. Deb Sanjay Nag won the Best Male Speaker award in the conference. Dr. Bhupendra Kumar Gupta received the 2nd prize in the TQM Paper category, and Dr. Abha Singh won the 2nd prize in the MBBS poster category.

The TMH Team, represented by Dr. Abha Singh and Dr. Siddhant Verma, won the 3rd prize in Mediquiz, and Dr. Sudeshna Dasgupta won the 3rd prize in the MBBS Paper category. Dr. Sudhir Rai chaired the TQM Papers session, and Dr. Ashok Kumar Chattoraj chaired the Steel Oration.

Congratulating the winning team, Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel said: “The Tata Steel Medical Services team’s outstanding performance at the 42nd AISMOC 2023 is a testament to the team’s commitment and dedication to advancing the medical field. Their contributions will have a lasting impact on the medical services and beyond.”

The AISMOC 2023 was a 3-day event which brought together leading doctors of steel hospitals across the country for an interactive event and hosted presentations by eminent guest speakers from the medical fraternity. Over 8 steel plants from India including all plants of SAIL and Vizag RINL participated in the event along with Tata Steel.

The next edition of the AISMOC will be held at Jamshedpur in 2024, and Tata Steel is already looking forward to making its mark once again.
