Jamshedpur: A 2-day 19th annual convention of ophthalmologists was organized at Golmuri Club, Jamshedpur under the aegis of Jharkhand Ophthalmological Society. The Health Minister of Jharkhand Mr. Banna Gupta inaugurated the convention.
On this occasion the convener of the organizing committee Dr. Vivek Kedia, Chairman of Scientific Committee Dr. Bharti Kashyap, Secretary of JOS Dr. Bibhuti Bhushan, President Dr. Lalit Jain, etc. were present.
Dr. Vivek Kedia, the convener of the organizing committee said that it is a matter of pride for Jharkhand that around 300 eye specialists from Bihar Jharkhand are participating in this conference. Chairman Scientific Committee Dr. Bharti Kashyap presented the details of the scientific papers presented by the members of Jharkhand Ophthalmological Society at national and international level during the year and the activities of the scientific committee.

For the first time in Bihar – Jharkhand phaco eye was used to teach phaco surgery of cataract to junior ophthalmologists in Gurukul session.
