Villagers seek CM’s intervention for road repair between Jagannathpur and Kumardubi in Baharagora
Jamshedpur: The villagers of Jagannathpur and Kumardubi area in Baharagora block have appealed to the Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren to issue orders for repair of road from NH-49 to Kumardubi village in Baharagora block.
They have pointed out that the condition of road from NH-49 in Jagannathpur to Kumardubi village of Baharagora block is in a miserable condition.
The road has not been repaired for the last 15 years and is causing a lot of problems for the villagers living in the area. The villagers of nearby areas have repeatedly apprised their representatives with the pathetic condition of the road. However, not much could be done. They are still waiting for some concrete action on the ground.
Jyotirmoy Das, a community leader of Kumardubi village, Barshol has sent a letter to the Chief Minister appealing to him to issue orders so that the road is repaired without further delay.
In his letter to the CM, Mr. Das said that villagers of around 40-45 villages use this 5-km stretch of road everyday. He said that this stretch of road caters to the transport and commute needs of around 8000 families.
Despite so many villages using the road for commuting, the condition of the road is miserable and it is full of ditches and potholes causing accidents regularly.
Das pointed out that the villagers are facing problems in moving to urban areas for business and other purposes. Children too face issues in reaching schools and colleges, while small vendors face problems in fetching their goods and other items. Even tempo drivers are unwilling to use this road.
Das said that the attention of the government officers has been drawn to the problem several times in the past too, but no action was forthcoming from any corner.
Das said that during the rainy season commuters have to face a lot of problems.
He urged the Chief Minister to take notice of the problems faced by so many villagers and issue orders for repair of road.
