Registrations open for the first-ever Tata Steel Virtual Run 2020

Jamshedpur: The first-ever Tata Steel Virtual Run is scheduled on November 22, 2020 for which registrations have been opened.

The various run categories for the Virtual Run are:
· 5K Run: 12-16 years (boys/girls)
· 7K Run: 16 years & above (men/women)
· 10K Run: 16 years & above (men/women)

To encourage maximum participation, some exciting gratifications like, e-certificate; discount coupons; and a steel medal, especially crafted from steel made by Tata Steel will be given out to the participants as per terms and conditions.

This year, the run is different, and with a social cause. To respect and protect Mother Nature and value the great advantages that trees bless us with every day, a sapling will be planted for each participant in Jamshedpur.

The participants can visit https://www.getactiveindia.com/ to register. The run is open only for Indian nationals. The participants can run from where they are and from where they choose to run.

Tata Steel has been promoting fitness culture through its marathons, organised in 5 cities across India – Kolkata; Jamshedpur and Noamundi (both in Jharkhand); and Bhubaneswar & Angul (both in Odisha). Annually, around 35,000 people participate in these running events. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, a need was identified to get connected with various stakeholders through a virtual run. Being conducted on digital platform ensures extended reach and aim to have more number of participations across the country compared to previous years.

The event will be managed by Striders (the event partner) – a fitness training group that designs and organises fitness-specific training programmes and conducts various run events through-out the year. And is sponsored by Brooks, the popular running shoe brand of the world, who designs and markets running-specific performance footwear, apparel and accessories worldwide.
