Basant Soren of JMM wins Dumka, Kumar Jaimangal of Congress wins Bermo
Ranchi: JMM candidate Basant Soren has won the Dumka seat by 6842 votes, while Kumar Jaimangal of Indian National Congress has won Bermo seat by 14,225 votes. Election Commission of India has officially declared the results for both the seats.
Basant Soren has defeated BJP candidate Lois Marandi on Dumka seat, while Kumar Jaimangal has defeated Yogeshwar Mahto Batul of BJP in Bermo.
In Dumka, Basant Soren has bagged a total of 80,559 votes (48.79%), while Lois Marandi bagged 73,717 votes (44.65%).
Interestingly, Surya Singh Besra came fourth in the vote ranking by bagging just 467 votes (0.28%). That was not an impressive performance by Besra’s standards.
On the other hand, Dular Marandi of Ambedkarite Party of India bagged 1498 (0.91%) votes. 2.22% voters opted for NOTA too in Dumka.
In Dumka, Kumar Jaimangal bagged 94,022 votes (49.36%), while Yogeshwar Mahto Batul bagged 79,797 (41.89%) votes. Lalchand Mahato of BSP was third with 4281 votes (2.25%). In Bermo too 1.11% of voters opted for NOTA.
