Jamshedpur: 11 more persons have tested positive for Covid-19 in East Singhbhum district on Thursday. With this the total number of infected persons in the district has reached 415.

There is a hint of community transmission in the new cases as many new cases have had no travel history. They also did not have any direct contact with anyone who has had a travel history. However, it still has not been confirmed by the health authorities that community transmission has already started in the city. This can be confirmed only through random surveys and other epidemiological methodologies.

Out of these 11 new positive cases, two have had a travel history to Hazaribagh, one to Buxar, one to Delhi, one to Jammu and Kashmir, two to Arrah, one to Kolktata and one to Gorakhpur.

Three infected persons are from Sundarnagar, two are from Telco, one is from Kadma, one from Baridih, two from Bagbera, one from Naya Bustee and two are from Kadma.

All these 11 newly found positive cases are being admitted in Covid-19 wards of two city hospitals.

Meanwhile, the district administration has again reiterated its appeal to the citizens to continue abiding by all the safety precautions to prevent the spread of the disease and to continue social distancing.

Containment zones and buffer zones have been created in several parts of the city after a few people in different areas were found positive. One such containment zone was also created in Kitadih today.
