2008 lecturer appointments were illegal: JPSC admits before court

Ranchi: Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has finally admitted that the appointment of lecturers in the year 2008 was illegal. The lecturers were appointed vice Advertisement NO. 01.2007.

In an affidavit filed in the court in connection with Writ Petition Case (WPC) No. 638/2008 filed by Jharkhand BET-NET Association, former JPSC Secretary Ratikant Jha said there was no valid merit list during the results.

On the so called merit list, neither the JPSC chairman nor any member has put their signature. Even, on the results of 21 subjects, the signatures of examination controller and secretary are missing. The applications of unsuccessful candidates are not with the JPSC, he reportedly said.

According to some candidates, the CBI has submitted all evidence of corruption and discrepancies in the appointments before the court. But justice is yet to be done.
