Lockdown restrictions in Jharkhand extended up to July 31

No respite for salon, spa, beauty parlour operators, hospitality services to remain barred

Jamshedpur: The Jharkhand government has issued orders to extend the lockdown related restrictions currently in place in the state till July 31 next. Despite a chorus of demands from several sectors to allow business activities, the government has decided to keep the restrictions in place for now.

So for now, there will be no relief to salon, spa, beauty parlour operators or hotels, malls and places of entertainment.

The government has also directed all the district administrations to ensure strict implementation of states lockdown directives.

In an order issued on Friday by the Chief Secretary of the state, Sukhdev Singh, it was made clear that all activities permitted prior to the order shall remain permitted.

The state directives issued by the government prohibits activities relating to religious places and places of worship for public, social political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious functions, fairs and other large congregations. Cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars and auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places as well as inter state and intrastate transport by bus will remain barred.

Similarly, shopping malls and hotels, lodges, dharmshalas, restaurants and other hospitality services will not be permitted. Spas, salons and barber shops too have not been allowed to operate.

The government order says that all shops would ensure frequent sanitisation throughout the day of all points which frequently come into human contact, e.g. door handles, surface of tables and counter etc.

The order also says that shops would ensure that list of all customers visiting the shops is maintained with their address and mobile numbers.

Readymade garment shops need to ensure that trial room is not used by the customers. Also any customer apparently having cough, breathing problems shall be denied entry and may be asked to immediately contact health facility.
