CM to Launch Free Transport Scheme for Underprivileged Today

State to Get Free Bus Service for Underprivileged Today

Chief Minister Champai Soren to unveil a scheme offering free transport to the underprivileged, enhancing connectivity in Jharkhand.

RANCHI – Today marks the commencement of the Mukhyamantri Gram Gadi Yojana, a pivotal initiative by the state government led by Chief Minister Champai Soren, aimed at providing free transportation services to the less fortunate segments of the society.

The program is set to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Soren at a ceremony in Morabadi, Ranchi, signifying a significant step towards improving accessibility and connectivity within the state.

This innovative scheme targets to bridge the gap between remote villages and urban centers, ensuring that educational facilities are within reach for the rural youth.

Additionally, it caters to the elderly, disabled individuals, and activists by offering them free bus services, emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusive development.

The initial phase of this project involves the deployment of 100 buses, laying the foundation for a more extensive transportation network in the future.

By facilitating seamless travel between panchayats, sub-divisions, and district headquarters, the initiative aims to dismantle the barriers to education and other essential services caused by the lack of transportation.

The Mukhyamantri Gram Gadi Yojana, initially delayed due to political turbulence in Jharkhand, is now set to transform the rural transportation landscape, supported by the department’s funding for operational costs.

Despite previous setbacks, the government’s resolve to implement this scheme reflects its dedication to enhancing the quality of life for its citizens, particularly in underserved areas.

Scheme’s Genesis

The conception of the Mukhyamantri Gram Gaadi Yojana was influenced by the urgent need to address transportation voids in rural Jharkhand.

Political shifts in the state’s landscape posed challenges, delaying the scheme’s launch.

The government’s persistence has now culminated in the realization of this initiative, promising a new era of connectivity for the state’s remote regions.

Impact and Implementation

Aiming to connect isolated areas lacking in basic transport services, the scheme is a beacon of hope for many.

The government’s target of operating 100 buses in the initial phase is a testament to its ambitious vision for rural mobility.

This strategic move is expected to significantly reduce the reliance on walking for accessing essential services, marking a milestone in the state’s development journey.
