Republic Day to Witness Fog in Jharkhand, Temperatures Set to Rise
Jharkhand is bracing for a foggy Republic Day on 26th January with a yellow alert issued for dense fog in northern and south-eastern parts. The weather center at Ranchi Airport forecasts mist in various districts, and a gradual increase in temperature is expected in the coming days.
RANCHI – The Ranchi Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert, warning of dense fog on Republic Day in Jharkhand’s northern and south-eastern regions.
The foggy conditions are anticipated to give way to a clear sky and dry weather in Ranchi.
Temperatures are set to rise gradually after three days, with an expected increase of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the following two days.
On Republic Day, Jharkhand’s maximum temperature is likely to hover between 20 to 24 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature could range from 5 to 9 degrees Celsius.
In Ranchi, temperatures are expected to be between 6 to 8 degrees Celsius at the lowest and 22 to 24 degrees Celsius at the highest.
In South Jharkhand, i.e. Jamshedpur, Chaibasa, Simdega and Seraikela, the fog in the morning would be shallow to moderate, while the sky would largely be clear. Most likely the weather would remain dry on the Republic Day.
Weather Trends and Precautions
The state, currently experiencing a cold wave, is likely to see relief with a gradual increase in the maximum temperature.
By next week, the maximum temperature in most parts of Jharkhand is expected to near normal levels, ranging from 22 to 27 degrees Celsius.
The dry spell is predicted to continue for the next 15 days, with normal temperatures anticipated in the second week of February, ranging from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
Temperature Fluctuations and Rainfall Analysis
The minimum temperature in Jharkhand is expected to remain below normal or normal until February 1, ranging from 6 to 16 degrees Celsius.
In the following week, the minimum temperature is likely to normalize throughout the state, expected between 11 to 18 degrees Celsius.
Regarding rainfall, Jharkhand witnessed 33% more than the normal amount between January 1 and January 25, with varying levels of rainfall across different districts.
Impact of Cyclonic Activity
The past week saw significant cyclonic activity affecting weather patterns across northern India.
Multiple cyclonic circulations were observed in the north-west and adjoining areas of Uttar Pradesh, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Telangana, South Chhattisgarh, and from Karnataka to Odisha.
These conditions led to sporadic rainfall in southern and central regions of India, affecting the temperature trends.
