Kolkata’s Rabindra Sadan Reservation Office Reopens after Morning Fire

Fire broke out at Rabindra Sadan Reservation Office in Kolkata early today but was quickly controlled; no impact on passenger services and Metro, and the reservation counters are now operational.

Kolkata – As of 15:20 hours, the reservation counters at Rabindra Sadan Reservation Office in Kolkata are operational again, after restoration work was carried out hastily due to a fire incident in the morning.

According to the Railways statement, it was necessary to cancel the first shift of ticket sales because of maintenance work following the sudden fire that started at approximately 7:25 a.m.

Passenger services were unaffected in any way, and Metro services were operating properly, even though three fire engines arrived at the booking office and the crisis was well under control by around 08:25 hours.

The staff members who were on duty utilized fire extinguishers to put out the fire, and senior railway authorities were at the scene as soon as the event happened.

The whole crew was secure, as the fire began before the ticket counters’ opening hours, with no one in the public present at that time. The first floor cooling unit emitted smoke, according to two staff members who were on duty, and they promptly phoned the fire department and informed the neighborhood police station of the situation.
