Cabinet Approval Granted for Inquiry into Ex-Jharkhand Ministers’ Asset Disproportion

Inquiry into potential asset disproportion of five former Jharkhand ministers gains cabinet approval.

JHARKHAND – In an important move with political ramifications, the Jharkhand state cabinet has given the green light to a preliminary inquiry against five former ministers of the state, suspecting disproportionate assets.

The approval was granted at the cabinet meeting on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The concerned ministers subject to this probe are Amar Kumar Bauri, Randhir Kumar Singh, Dr. Neera Yadav, Lewis Marandi, and Neelkanth Singh Munda.

This development comes after Chief Minister Hemant Soren had earlier instructed the monitoring division to launch the preliminary inquiry.

Further action will now include questioning the involved parties.

This decision was part of 29 initiatives approved at the same cabinet meeting.

This inquiry initiation came upon a request by the Cabinet Secretariat and Monitoring Department, related to a case – Pankaj Kumar Yadav vs. State of Jharkhand and Others, prompted by findings from the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
