Family members urge Jharkhand Academic Council to find a solution

Jamshedpur: In a disappointing development, Ankit, who is an accused in Mango firing case, was deprived of writing his Intermediate examination conducted by Jharkhand Academic Council due to the negligence of the Ghaghidih jail administration.

Ankit’s family members are disappointed and have urged the Council to find a way to ensure that Ankit is not compelled to lose a year of his career.

Ankit, who is a commerce student at Jamshedpur Workers College, was brought to the examination center at Graduate College by the jail management on Wednesday, but was not allowed to take the exam as he had reached late.

Ankit had his business studies exam on 24th March, which was canceled by the council, and had to take the exam again on Wednesday.

He was informed that his paper is in the second sitting. However, the schedule was changed and the examination was conducted in the first sitting itself.

However, the information about the change in the exam timing was not given to him, due to which he reached late for the exam.

Even after several requests, he was not allowed to take the exam and was taken back to jail.

Ankit’s family members, who reached the college, requested the council to find another way and conduct the exam again as Ankit was deprived of giving the exam due to the mistake of the jail management.

They expressed their concern that Ankit’s one year would be wasted if he is not allowed to take the exam again.

Ankit said that he had fired after a dispute near the Mango bridge and was sent to jail by the police. He expressed his disappointment at being unable to take the exam despite his efforts. The incident has raised questions about the responsibility of the jail management and the need for better coordination between the jail authorities and educational institutions in such cases.
