Accused Allegedly Helped ISI Agent Obtain Forged Travel Documents

Key Points:

  • Mumbai Police arrests Monajir Khan from Mango for fake passport case
  • Accused linked to ISI agent through forged passport and visa creation
  • Digital devices, hard drives, and documents seized during operation

JAMSHEDPUR – Mumbai Police’s Special Cell has arrested Mango-based travel agent Monajir Khan for allegedly creating a fake passport for an ISI agent.

According to police, Khan was taken into custody on October 26 from his “Asian International” office at Mango Chowk. He was later produced in court and sent to Mumbai on transit remand. Officers seized four hard drives, a laptop, a CPU, and several suspicious documents from his office.

Police sources said Khan has a previous criminal record. In 2017, he was accused of breaking into the Mango Notified Area Committee office, damaging computers, and stealing hard drives. He was arrested by Ulidih police and later released on bail.

The investigation began after Delhi Police arrested Adil Hussain and Mumbai Police detained his brother Akhtar Hussain. Both named Monajir Khan during questioning. Investigators found that Khan had helped Akhtar obtain a fake passport and visa under the alias “Alexander.”

Sources revealed that Akhtar Hussain’s name had also surfaced in a 2004 nuclear espionage case involving alleged sale of India’s atomic secrets.

Monajir, the youngest of four brothers, allegedly worked with his brother Danish Khan, who runs “Sky World Office” in Mango. Danish reportedly used Monajir’s foreign recruitment data to extract money from job seekers. Police suspect the duo operated a fraudulent network for 15 years.

Investigators also searched the same building where Khan’s father and another brother operate a mobile shop. Some papers were confiscated from there as well. According to sources, Danish amassed property worth crores over the last five years, while Monajir specialized in digital forgery and online fraud.

Residents of Zakirnagar area said they were unaware of Monajir’s arrest. His family kept silent about the matter, and staff continued to open the office to avoid suspicion.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police’s Special Cell is now interrogating Monajir to trace others involved in the conspiracy and to uncover his links with ISI handlers.
