Azad Nagar youth arrested for cheating on pretext of marriage

Jamshedpur: Mango police on Saturday arrested a person T Ansari from Azad Nagar Road No. 18 area on the charges of cheating on the pretext of marriage.

He was charged with cheating a woman with false promises of marriage. After medical examination, the accused was sent to judicial custody.

The woman alleged that she is a divorcee since 2013 and is a mother of five children.

She said that she came in touch with the accused in 2014 over telephone and then they developed close relationship.

However, on July 29 last she came to know that the accused had married another woman.

She said that when she visited his house, she was not allowed in.

Later, the woman approached Mango police and lodged a written complaint.

Acting swiftly in the case, the Mango police arrested the accused on Friday.

The family members of the accused, however, denied the charges and said that the woman is a mother of five children. They said that the charges being levelled by the complainant are not true.

The police are investigating the case.
