Women Candidates Get Only 16% Tickets in Jharkhand Polls

Major Parties Fall Short on Gender Parity Despite 33% Reservation Law for 2029

RANCHI – Major political parties in Jharkhand have allocated merely 16% of assembly tickets to women candidates for upcoming elections.

The BJP leads with ten female candidates.

Moreover, Congress follows with six women nominees.

Meanwhile, JMM has given tickets to four female contestants.

Furthermore, AJSU has fielded two women in the electoral race.

However, most selected candidates have strong political family connections.

In addition, women voters now dominate 31 constituencies demographically.

On the other hand, parties have launched various schemes targeting female voters.

Meanwhile, a former women’s commission member emphasizes the need for grassroots representation.

Besides, political analysts suggest increased women participation could enhance democratic processes.
