Nuvoco Vistas Launches Mason Skill Development Program in Panagarh

Initiative aims to empower local youth and boost construction industry skills

JAMSHEDPUR – Nuvoco Vistas Corp Ltd, India’s fifth-largest cement producer, has initiated a new skill development program for masons in Panagarh, West Bengal.

The Nuvo Mason Skill Development Program is part of the company’s CSR efforts.

It targets the unorganized masonry sector, offering certified training.

The program will train 50 participants from villages near the Panagarh Cement Plant.

Training covers both theoretical and practical skills in tile masonry.

The 300-hour curriculum aligns with the National Skills Qualification Framework.

Participants will receive certification from the National Skill Development Corporation.

The initiative aims to enhance employability in the construction industry.

It seeks to foster wage parity and create sustainable livelihoods.

Indira Chakraborty, Pradhan of Kota Gram Panchayat, inaugurated the program.

Pawan Royal, Plant Head at Panagarh Cement Plant, emphasized youth empowerment.

The program aims to promote financial independence and improve quality of life.

Chakraborty highlighted the positive impact on local employment opportunities.

NUVO Mason program operates across five states in India.

Since FY2022-23, it has benefited over 500 youth, including women.

The initiative focuses on enhancing income and social integration.
