NSS team plants 70 saplings, educates on dengue prevention and water harvesting
RVS College’s NSS department organized an environmental awareness program at a local school, planting saplings and educating on health issues.
JAMSHEDPUR – The NSS department of RVS College of Engineering and Technology conducted an environmental awareness program at a local +2 school, focusing on dengue prevention and water conservation.
Dr. Dilip Kumar Haldhar spearheaded the event, which saw participation from around 60 college students.
The school’s principal, Ajay Kumar, along with assistant teachers, provided active support for the program.
Discussions centered on preventing dengue-related diseases, particularly highlighting the increased risk during the rainy season.
The importance of maintaining clean surroundings to reduce dengue mosquito breeding was emphasized.
Water harvesting during the rainy season was another crucial topic addressed, stressing water’s vital role in life.
NSS coordinators Dr. Rahi Das Kunal Sarkar and Mani Shesh played key roles in organizing the event.
The institution’s treasurer, Shatrughan Singh, commended the initiative as part of the college’s social responsibility.
Approximately 70 saplings were planted by the NSS team within the school premises and nearby vacant areas.
Professor Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, the college principal, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s successful efforts.
