JSCA observer Dinesh Kumar Singh oversaw elections and discussions on cricket development in the district

GAMHARIA – The Cricket Association of Seraikela Kharsawan convened its Annual General Body meeting on August 4, electing new leadership and addressing critical issues facing local cricket.

The gathering, held at a Gamharia hotel, marked a significant shift in the association’s governance.

Acting President Pramod Kumar presided over the event, which saw the election of a new executive committee.

Dr. Ajay Kumar, a former scientist with the Department of Atomic Energy, was elected as the new President.

Election officer SP Singh and JSCA observer Dinesh Kumar Singh oversaw the electoral process, ensuring transparency and fairness.

Addressing Infrastructure Challenges

A major focus of the meeting was the ongoing struggle to secure adequate cricket grounds.

The association has relied on NIT Jamshedpur and TISCO facilities for the past decade, but recent access denials have exacerbated the situation.

Members unanimously agreed to seek JSCA’s assistance in:

1. Obtaining a dedicated ground

2. Acquiring land for cricket facilities

3. Procuring necessary equipment

"The lack of proper grounds is severely hampering our ability to develop local talent and showcase our players’ skills," stated a concerned member.

Initiatives for Cricket Development

Dr. Ajay Kumar, demonstrating his commitment to local cricket, made a generous donation of Rs. 1 lakh to the association.

"This contribution will be instrumental in establishing a cricket academy and fostering grassroots development in Seraikela Kharsawan," Dr. Kumar announced.

The funds are earmarked specifically for enhancing cricket infrastructure and training programs in the district.

The meeting concluded with Prashant Kumar delivering a vote of thanks.

The newly elected leadership expressed optimism about the future of cricket in Seraikela Kharsawan.

"With our new team and renewed focus on infrastructure development, we’re poised to elevate cricket in our district to new heights," remarked Kumar Prabhat Kiran, the Acting President.
