Severe Heatwave Continues in Jharkhand, Monsoon Expected Soon

High Temperatures Across the State, Monsoon Arrival Anticipated

Authorities issue heatwave alerts in multiple districts as Jharkhand braces for extreme heat conditions while monsoon nears.

RANCHI – Heat is at its peak across the country. According to Dr. Abhishek Anand of the Ranchi centre of the Meteorological Department, the monsoon may enter the Indian border on Thursday.

Conditions for the arrival of the monsoon remain favourable. However, this year, the monsoon is arriving in Kerala ahead of time. The normal date of monsoon in the state is June 1.

Severe heatwave continues in Jharkhand, including Kolhan. On Wednesday, Jamshedpur recorded a maximum temperature of 43.8 degrees and a minimum temperature of 30.3 degrees.

Garhwa district recorded the highest temperature of 48 degrees. Except for Baharagora, Pakur, and Sahebganj, temperatures in the remaining districts remained above 40 degrees.

Severe heatwave alert has been issued in many districts of Jharkhand.

According to the Meteorological Department, the heatwave situation will continue in Jharkhand till May 31. During this time, an orange alert has been issued for heatwave conditions in Garhwa, Palamu, and Chatra.

A yellow alert has been issued for heatwave conditions in Koderma, Giridih, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, and Saraikela-Kharsawan.

To avoid heatwave effects, it is crucial to keep the body hydrated. Children, the elderly, and pregnant women are more at risk of heatwave, so they need special attention.
