- Police intensify manhunt for accused in Himanshu Singh killing

JAMSHEDPUR – Senior police officers held a late-night meeting to review the district’s security arrangements.
The meeting took place at the Jamshedpur SP office. Additional Director General (ADG) Manoj Kaushik led the session.
Meanwhile, a Deputy Inspector General and all station in-charges attended. Newly appointed police chiefs of two districts also joined.
IPS officer Ehtesham Waquarib became the new SSP on July 1. Manoj Swargiyari took charge as SP of Seraikela-Kharsawan the same day.
However, raids continue to trace suspects in the Himanshu Singh murder case. ADG Kaushik said separate teams have been formed for the operation.
However, properties of the absconding accused will also be examined, he said. Investigators will trace the source of income in their bank accounts.
Meanwhile, ADG Kaushik directed station in-charges to inspect bars and pubs. He asked them to complete the checks within 24 hours.
Officers must submit their inspection reports to the sub-divisional officer. Action will follow against any establishment found operating irregularly.
Besides the manhunt, the order follows the stabbing of Himanshu Singh. He was attacked last month at the Double Down Bar in Bistupur.
The Karni Sena leader later died at TMH. The case was then converted into murder.
Moreover, authorities have since sealed the bar involved in the incident. Police also suspended four policemen, including a station house officer.
Moreover, Section 163 prohibitory orders remain in force in several areas. These restrictions cover multiple police station areas of the city.
In addition, police raided the home of the bar’s operator. Two luxury vehicles were seized from the premises, officials said.
On the other hand, the control room will monitor incidents round the clock. Any information received will be registered immediately for action, he said.
Further action will follow after each case is investigated.
