JAMSHEDPUR – Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s East Singhbhum district committee will organize a two-day cricket tournament on January 10 and 11 at Co-operative College ground.

The Disom Guru Shibu Soren Memorial Cup-2026 will commemorate the birth anniversaries of tribal icon Shibu Soren and former MP Sunil Mahato. The event will feature 16 teams from across the district.

However, participation remains restricted to JMM party workers and leaders only. The organizing committee believes this will strengthen bonds among party members.

On the other hand, the two-day format will allow extensive competition. Moreover, the venue at Co-operative College provides adequate facilities for the matches.

Victor Soren, a member of the JMM district committee, confirmed the arrangements. The tournament aims to enhance mutual recognition among party workers.

Meanwhile, the event marks a significant political-sports initiative in Jamshedpur. In addition, it honors two important figures in Jharkhand’s political history.

The memorial cup represents JMM’s efforts to engage its grassroots workers. Furthermore, the cricket format provides a platform for informal networking among members.

Besides, all blocks of East Singhbhum district will send representatives. The tournament structure ensures broad participation from party ranks.

In conclusion, the organizing committee expects enthusiastic participation from JMM workers. The event combines sports with political commemoration in the steel city.
