JAMSHEDPUR – A locked residence in the Harharguttu locality was found ransacked after neighbors alerted the caretaker about damage to the main gate.

The house of Hridya Nath Singh in Parsudih :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0} remained vacant since he left for Katihar on November 29. Moreover, he had handed the keys to his relative Rajiv Kumar Singh for routine upkeep.

However, neighbor Rakesh Singh called him on December 10 after noticing a damaged latch.

Rajiv Singh reached the spot soon after. He used the keys to access the premise. Inside, he saw broken locks across rooms. Besides, the CCTV wires had been cut.

On the other hand, every room appeared disturbed. Storage spaces, including an inbuilt locker, had been pried open.

A list prepared later indicated stolen gold and silver ornaments worth nearly ₹15 lakh. In addition, ₹10,000 in cash was missing.

However, police received the complaint the same day. A local resident said, “The intruders knew the house was empty.”

Meanwhile, Singh has demanded a thorough probe and strong action against those responsible.

The incident adds to earlier Parsudih theft reports, reflecting a recurring concern in the area.
