ADITYAPUR – A youth was caught near Hariomnagar after a woman pushed him down during a snatching attempt on Saturday.

The incident occurred in the Adityapur police limits. The youth tried grabbing the woman’s phone. However, she resisted strongly. She pushed him, and he fell instantly.

People nearby ran toward the scene. Moreover, they caught the youth quickly. They tied him to an electric pole. Residents assaulted him before calling police.

Adityapur police reached soon afterward. Officers freed him from the crowd. They detained him for questioning. Police also seized his bike for verification.

A local resident stated that the youth had been active earlier. On the other hand, several women had reported similar attempts. He reportedly failed to snatch a purse on the same day. Residents then caught him immediately.

Police began verifying his identity. Moreover, they checked his criminal history. Officers reviewed older complaints for any matches.

Similar earlier actions were seen in Adityapur’s security review. Failed robbery cases like resistance incidents have also been recorded. Another attempt occurred on Bantanagar road. A related crackdown is noted in police arrests. Locals earlier caught snatchers in Telco.
