Key Points:

  • Former minister Dulal Bhuiyan leads massive protest rally from puja ground to headquarters
  • Residents demand proper rehabilitation, threaten phased agitation until demands met

JAMSHEDPUR – Residents of Bhuiyandih area intensified protests after dozens of homes were demolished. The demolition occurred during a road widening campaign. No prior notice was issued to affected families.

Local residents organized demonstrations against the action. They staged a torchlight procession on Friday night. The protest expressed anger toward the administration.

On Saturday, a massive rally marched through the city. The procession started from Bhuiyandih puja ground. It culminated at the district headquarters.

Former minister Dulal Bhuiyan led the demonstration. Large numbers of women participated actively. They carried placards demanding proper rehabilitation.

The protesters raised slogans for affected families. They demanded dignified resettlement arrangements. The rally significantly escalated the movement.

Residents condemned the timing of demolitions. The action occurred on Constitution Day. They termed this highly insensitive.

The administration issued no advance warning. Moreover, proper notice procedures were not followed. Affected families felt completely helpless.

Protesters accused officials of arbitrary functioning. They claimed the approach lacked compassion. Rendering needy families homeless cannot be justified.

The demonstrators appealed to state government. They sought serious intervention in the matter. A fair solution must be found urgently.

Residents made their position clear. The phased agitation will continue indefinitely. It will end only after proper rehabilitation.

All affected families require safe resettlement. Furthermore, the arrangement must maintain dignity. These demands remain non-negotiable.

The Bhuiyandih demolition case has witnessed multiple legal battles. The NGT had earlier examined similar petitions. However, ground-level issues persist.

Political leaders have previously intervened in such matters. Saryu Roy had criticized notice procedures in earlier instances. The current situation echoes past grievances.

The Congress party had submitted memorandums against such demolitions. MLA demands for rehabilitation remain pending. Community anger continues mounting.
