Temple Committee Opposes Jusco’s Closure of Rear Access at Jubilee Park

JAMSHEDPUR – A dispute erupted on Thursday after boundary work near the Kachhari Baba Temple blocked its rear access adjoining Jubilee Park.
The temple sits beside the district headquarters. However, workers began fencing the rear section under a Jusco project.
Moreover, the locals allege that the structure would shut the temple’s back exit completely.
The temple committee objected immediately. In addition, several group members reached the site.
Hindu organisations soon joined the protest and demanded a halt to the work.
VHP representative Arun Singh criticised the approach. He said the action ignored dialogue.
He added that the move targeted traditional practices linked to the temple.
“Such steps without consent cannot be tolerated,” a source said, quoting a protest voice.
Supporters insisted that all future decisions must involve the committee.
Similar protests against utility or boundary issues have surfaced earlier. Related events include a Congress protest and earlier infrastructure demands.
Tensions also rose during a Burmamines agitation and another temple boundary protest.
Jamshedpur also witnessed a water quality protest earlier.
