MEDININAGAR – Early Saturday morning, criminals targeted a stone mine in Chandwa, under Chainpur police station in Palamu, firing multiple rounds before being apprehended by police.

The incident occurred when motorcycle-borne criminals arrived at the mine and fired seven rounds. Police officers stationed at the nearby Chandwa picket immediately pursued the suspects, leading to the arrest of five individuals.

Swift Police Action and Recoveries

Palamu SP Reshma Ramesh confirmed that five suspects were arrested. Four weapons were seized from them. The suspects had reportedly been involved in previous firing incidents in Ranchi and Ormanjhi, raising concerns about their links to organized crime.

Connections to Sujit Sinha Gang

Preliminary investigations indicate that the arrested individuals have ties to the Sujit Sinha gang, a notorious criminal outfit in the region. The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has joined the probe to uncover more details about the gang’s activities and its network.

Search Operations and Ongoing Investigations

Authorities have launched extensive search operations in nearby areas. SP Reshma Ramesh added, “The arrested criminals are being questioned, and we are conducting raids to locate any accomplices.” In addition, ATS teams are investigating the Ranchi and Ormanjhi firing cases for possible connections.

This incident highlights the persistent challenges of organized crime in the region. Authorities aim to use the arrests to dismantle the broader network of the Sujit Sinha gang.
