The firing had taken place following a violent clash between two rival groups over local dominance. The dispute escalated late that night, leading one side to open fire, causing panic across the area. Locals immediately informed the Jugsalai police.
When police reached the spot, they recovered four empty cartridges, confirming the use of firearms. A special investigation team was then formed under the Jugsalai Police Station Officer-in-Charge. The technical cell and intelligence unit also joined the probe.
Investigators analyzed CCTV footage, tracked mobile locations, and gathered local intelligence, which led them to the accused. Acting on a tip-off, police surrounded Kharkai Bridge and captured Armaan.
During interrogation, he confessed to planning the shooting to assert his dominance in the locality. “We had been tracking him since the incident,” a police source said. “He was hiding near the bridge when we caught him. His arrest is a major breakthrough.”
