KOLKATA – The second edition of the Madhurashtakam International Dance Festival was held at Gan Bhavan in Uttarpara, organized by Draupadi Jhankar Nritya Vidyalaya under the guidance of dancer Anshika Das.
The program featured 75 emerging artists from West Bengal, Jharkhand, Kerala, and the United States. They presented a mix of classical, semi-classical, folk, and Rabindra dance pieces. The audience witnessed captivating performances in Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Odissi, folk traditions, and Rabindra Nritya.
International Kathak guru Vidushi Durga Arya attended as chief guest. Meanwhile, guest gurus included Anurekha Ghosh (Kathak), Suchismita Kanjilal (Odissi), Atanu Das, and Shravani Das (Bharatanatyam). The festival was anchored by Aklanta Majumdar. Tarun Bose and Ranjit Das served as guest photographers.
At the conclusion, the performers received angavastras, certificates, and mementos as tokens of honor. Moreover, California Television Global collaborated as the international media partner, ensuring worldwide broadcast of the event.
