JAMSHEDPUR – Local residents of Ramadhin Bagan have approached the District Collector demanding immediate completion of an abandoned drainage project under Telco police station area.
The main drain construction was left incomplete by authorities. Water accumulation has occurred in the local playground subsequently. Moreover, the stagnant water has created serious hygiene problems.
Mosquito and fly infestation has increased significantly in the area. Residents are facing health risks due to waterlogging. However, the administration has not addressed the drainage issue.
Local people joined hands with Jan Seva organization today. They submitted a formal complaint to the District Collector. Meanwhile, they demanded swift completion of the drainage work.
Jan Seva coordinator Amaresh Kumar issued a stern warning. He stated that the organization would launch aggressive protests. Furthermore, local residents would participate in the demonstrations.
The ultimatum gives administration 15 days for action. Authorities must initiate drainage construction within this timeframe. On the other hand, failure to respond will trigger mass agitation.
The incomplete drainage project has disrupted normal life. Children cannot use the playground due to waterlogging. Besides, the area has become a breeding ground for diseases.
