Key Points:

  • Two-day celebration starts July 10 with Rudraabhishek on July 11
  • MLA funds entire event from personal savings without external help
  • Special elephant-ear shaped puris distributed as prasad after ceremony

JAMSHEDPUR – The 25th annual Ramarchha Puja commenced today at Bistupur, organized by West Jamshedpur MLA Saryu Roy using his personal savings without any external assistance.

The religious ceremony will span two days at J-42, Bistupur. Puja rituals began at 8 AM on July 10. However, the main Rudraabhishek ceremony is scheduled for 8 AM on July 11.

Meanwhile, prasad distribution will take place at Milani Hall immediately after the Rudraabhishek concludes. The event preparations have reached their final stage.

Roy announced these details during a press conference held locally. He emphasized that the puja originates from Ayodhya traditions. Moreover, the ceremony has spread to various parts of the country from there.

The MLA confirmed he finances the entire event from his personal income savings. He utilizes only his own resources for this religious gathering. On the other hand, he accepts no external support or contributions.

Roy explained that introducing people to Sanatani traditions remains the primary objective. The ceremony has become deeply rooted in local consciousness over 25 years. Besides, Jamshedpur residents now associate Guru Purnima with this annual celebration.

The puja includes worship of Lord Rama and all his associates. These companions supported Rama during his forest exile and Lanka expedition. In addition, the ceremony features special worship of Goddess Kali and Lord Shiva.

Other deities honored include Vibhishana, Angad, Jambavant, and Hanuman. Furthermore, King Dasharatha and his entire family receive prayers. The ritual continues for seven to eight hours continuously.

Roy stated that devotees express their devotion to Lord Rama through this ceremony. The event aims to incorporate Rama’s ideal conduct into social life. However, the ultimate goal involves promoting moral values in society.

The July 11 Rudraabhishek will feature specially prepared elephant-ear shaped puris. Craftsmen from Buxar create these unique offerings exclusively for the event. Moreover, various vegetable preparations accompany the prasad distribution.

Roy invited all citizens to participate in the worship ceremony. He particularly encouraged everyone to receive prasad on July 11. The annual tradition continues to strengthen community bonds through religious participation.
