SARAIKELA – The district police have intensified their crackdown on illegal opium cultivation, combining awareness campaigns with enforcement actions.

Police destroyed illegal poppy cultivation across multiple areas. Drone technology aids in detection operations.

“We’ve strengthened surveillance against drug cultivation,” a senior police official stated.

Operation Details

Authorities cleared 3.5 acres in Ranka and Turu villages. Birdih village witnessed destruction of two acres.

Meanwhile, villagers in Raijama voluntarily destroyed five acres. The community action occurred in Chetanpura area.

Enhanced Enforcement

Police have modernized detection methods using drones. The technology helps identify hidden cultivation areas.

Moreover, local communities support anti-drug initiatives. Village councils actively participate in destruction drives.

Future Strategy

SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat warned of legal consequences. The operation targets both cultivators and traffickers.

In addition, police conduct regular awareness programs. The campaign aims to prevent future illegal cultivation.
