JAMSHEDPUR – In a bid to curb road accidents and promote adherence to traffic regulations, the National Road Safety Month is being observed across Jamshedpur from January 1 to January 31. On Friday, a meeting focusing on road safety initiatives was held at the Sakchi police station, presided over by Traffic DSP Neeraj.

DSP Neeraj revealed that the traffic police, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra and NSS students of Karim City College, have undertaken extensive awareness programs. Starting Friday, Nehru Yuva Kendra will conduct campaigns until January 23 to educate the public and young individuals on the importance of road safety.

Collaborative Efforts for Safety

Highlighting the importance of the initiative, DSP Neeraj emphasized that adherence to traffic rules not only saves lives but also minimizes post-accident complications. He shared alarming statistics, noting that nearly eight minors lose their lives every hour in road accidents. “By following traffic rules, we can ensure our safety and the safety of others,” he urged.

Month-Long Activities Planned

The road safety campaign will feature diverse programs aimed at spreading awareness. These initiatives are designed to encourage citizens to follow traffic rules, thereby reducing risks and safeguarding lives. Officials are optimistic that these efforts will significantly impact public behavior on the roads.

Community Participation

Youth groups and local organizations are playing a critical role in the campaign. Their involvement aims to bridge the gap between authorities and the public, ensuring the message of road safety reaches every corner of the city.
