Railways Building Loop Lines Near Manikui to Ease Train Movement
Rs 2.5 Crore Project to Reduce Congestion Between Chandil and Tatanagar
Key Points:
- Two new loop lines sanctioned near Manikui station for Rs 2.5 crore
- Project aims to separate goods trains from passenger traffic flow
- Railway GM conducts on-foot inspection of tracks in project area
JAMSHEDPUR – South Eastern Railway has initiated construction of two loop lines near Manikui station to improve train operations.
Railway GM A.K. Mishra inspected the tracks recently. He walked several kilometers to review the project site.
“This will significantly reduce bottlenecks,” a senior railway official explained.
Infrastructure Development
The project targets chronic congestion issues. It will help goods trains bypass the main line.
Meanwhile, similar projects are planned for other stations. These include Tatanagar and Adityapur.
Operational Benefits
The new lines will streamline goods movement. Trains often face delays near Kandra currently.
Moreover, the Chakradharpur division plans additional loops. These will serve loading points and goods sheds.
Temporary Disruptions
The construction requires periodic line blocks. Several trains face temporary cancellations.
Meanwhile, services to Bihar and Jharkhand experience delays. Similar work affects other divisions too.
“We need quick project completion,” a regular commuter commented.
