DC Holds Meeting, Assigns Duties for Festive Preparations

MEDININAGAR – In preparation for the Republic Day celebrations, a joint meeting of administrative and police officials was held at the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shashi Ranjan. The DC emphasized timely completion of all preparations to ensure a grand celebration.
Highlights of the Main Ceremony
The main ceremony will be held at Police Stadium, where the chief guest will hoist the national flag at 9:05 a.m. The event will feature a parade including contingents from IRB, district police, Home Guards, and NCC, along with vibrant tableaux from government departments and institutions. Rehearsals for the parade have been instructed to ensure a flawless performance.
Outstanding individuals from various fields will be felicitated during the event. Additionally, arrangements for cleanliness, seating, security, water supply, and loudspeakers have been assigned to respective officials for timely execution.
District-Wide Ban on Meat and Alcohol
On Republic Day, the sale and consumption of meat and alcohol will be strictly prohibited across the district. The DC also directed the municipal corporation to ensure special cleaning drives, including thorough cleaning of the statues of prominent personalities, to keep the city spotless on the occasion.
